Tuna fishing aboard the Windy is the ultimate offshore experience and one of the most exciting trips we offer. The season kicks off in late June and runs through early October, following the migration of powerful pelagic fish that test both skill and stamina. Early in the season, we target School Bluefin Tuna, which arrive toward the end of June and provide fast, explosive surface action close to home. As the summer heats up, the bite transitions to Yellowfin Tuna around mid-July, bringing larger fish and the kind of heart-pounding battles that define offshore sportfishing.

The Windy is recognized as one of Rhode Island’s premier offshore charter boats, known for consistent catches, a knowledgeable crew, and the ability to put anglers right where the action is. Our Yellowfins typically range from 50 to 70 pounds, with true bruisers pushing past the 100-pound mark — fish that hit hard, run deep, and deliver a fight you’ll never forget.
